A beloved family friend from the neighborhood I grew up in recommended this "recipe" to my mom one day recently when she complained of a sore throat. I wasn't feeling too great either and happened to have too much mint (it goes crazy, so only grow it in pots), so I went ahead and tried it, even though I hate store-bought peppermint tea. I was surprised--tea made from fresh mint and honey is delicious and very soothing. I like to sip it while doing my vocal warmup exercises.
Here's a picture of a steamy hot mug of mint tea with honey, shown in front of my potted mint plant:
(It's also delicious lukewarm or cool)
Note: Unlike camellia sinensis teas (i.e. real tea), the mint leaves cannot be reused (they lose their flavor and taste almost rotten if they get overheated). If you want to add more hot water, add some new leaves too, and if you have drained your cup, you will have to start over.
A+
