I've been feeling luckier and luckier lately for having ended up with these three little bundles of joy/terror in my life. The puppies are more like kids than like babies now, and looking back at old pictures, I can't imagine how such soft, sweet little things could have caused me so much trouble (but I know they did!). They've gotten easier to care for in some ways--for instance, they now understand the word "No!" (even if they don't always heed it), and we've even had a couple of "no potties in the house" days. It would seem like we should have had more than a couple by now, until you consider that there are three puppies, each of whom poos 3 to 5 times per day and pees up to 15 times per day, for a total of up to 60 "potties" per day. To get all of those done outside in all sorts of weather (and Texas spring has all sorts of weather) is impressive enough for me.
It helps that all the puppies have been able to play together in the blocked off main area of the kitchen where I can stand among them and supervise. It also helps that the kitchen is backyard-adjacent and has an easy-to-clean floor. The puppies love having all that room to play:
And to fight:
Max still loves to jump up in front of the camera:
They still have nap time in their crates:
And meal time in the kitchen:
They cry when I leave the room during playtime. It's flattering, but it gets old after a while. Luckily they're gradually getting over it and becoming more self-sufficient:
I thought I would be walking the puppies twice a day as soon as they got all their shots, but it's been harder getting them used to their walking harness and leash than I thought it would be. Here my mom is walking Max, who literally has tears in his eyes:
He likes the harness much more than he liked the collar, though. And he gets more comfortable in it all the time. Especially when we tell him how handsome he looks:
Whenever one puppy is wearing the harness, the others bark jealously:
I don't remember what's going on here, but it's cute:
Sometimes, during their last playtime of the day (roughly 9 PM to 10 PM), they have to play in the little pen so that they're a bit quieter for my roommate (who still adores them, but also still hates when they are inconvenient):
My sister holding her Maxwell, who loves her to bits and pieces:
One day as I was bringing the puppies in (or taking them out?), Maxwell ended up by himself in the kitchen, and I found him just sitting there. He never sits for the camera! But here, he did:
I even got closer:
And closer:
And up he pops!:
If the kiddos have to be in the playpen, they spend most of the time jumping to get out (they prefer the main part of the kitchen):
I give them a little sunshine time now and then, seeing as they like it so much:
Lizzie on the harness, walked by my sister:
Grass hanging out of her mouth:
Here's a whole bunch of sunny day pictures:
Max is digging a hole. Not sure what's going on here with Joey (Spot):
Max is eating something he found on (or in) the ground, like a leaf or a grass runner:
If he were using his other paw, Joey would look like he's giving a benediction:
There, how's that?:
Spot sticks his head in the hole, while Lizzie waits for a chance to stick her head in the hole:
Same hole as before, different puppy sticking his head in it:
Happy kids:
Thanks for stopping by! Have the very best day!!
